Creep sought in push-in rape attempt in East Village

Police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with an attempted rape in the East Village.

According to cops, on Sun., July 10, around 11:40 p.m., the suspect approached a 23-year-old woman inside her apartment building at 11th Street and Third Avenue. He pushed the victim into her home and tried to sexually assault her. He stole her wallet before fleeing.

Police released a surveillance photo and video of the suspect inside a store. He is seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark shorts, blue sneakers and a tan-colored ball cap with a dark brim and sporting a black beard.
