Police seek New Year’s Eve push-in rapist

A sicko posing as a deliveryman raped and robbed a woman in the Kips Bay neighborhood on New Year’s Eve, police said.

According to cops, on Thurs., Dec. 31, at 11:45 p.m., a stranger knocked on the door of a 27-year-old woman at the intersection of E. 30th St. and Third Ave. He claimed he was there to deliver a package.

As the victim opened the door, the man reportedly pushed his way inside the residence, choked the victim until she was unconscious, and then, once she regained consciousness, raped her.

After the assault, the attacker forced the victim to give him her credit cards, debit cards and PIN number, then fled. The woman called 911 and was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated and released.

The suspect is described as about 18 to 28 years old, 6 feet tall and last seen wearing a yellow-and-blue reversible bubble jacket, light-colored pants with a vertical stripe down the side and light-colored sneakers.

Police released photos and video, taken from a security camera, of the alleged suspect before and after the assault.
