Isaias was too much for Two Fifth Ave. tree

Among the casualties of Tropical Storm Isaias and its powerful winds was the large tree in front of Two Fifth Ave.

The tree was a familiar sight to past residents of the white-brick building just north of Washington Square Park, including former Mayor Ed Koch, Congressmember Bella Abzug and AIDS activist and writer Larry Kramer.
