More signs of the times

East Village journo Bill Weinberg continues to snap photos of Black Lives Matter plywood artwork and graffiti and more as he makes his rounds Downtown — and also while biking on his way into Brooklyn to shop at his favorite Yemeni grocery store.

These shots were taken between June 20 and June 30.

The small text that someone jotted on the right of the artwork above. Weinberg responded: “Yes, indeed it does. Including the U.S.A. — prison labor, and undocumented immigrants laboring in indentured servitude (or worse) in sweatshops, fields and brothels. Not that this lets China, Burma, Sudan or Mauritania off the hook for anything. Nor would any abuses in those countries let the U.S. off the hook for anything.”
