Superfine Art Fair is back in the Big Apple and at a new location.
Running from Thurs., Sept. 14, to Sun., Sept. 17, Superfine this time will be at Iron23, a new, loft-like, industrial-looking space at 29 W. 23rd St.
There will be work by 120 artists from New York and around the world on display. Ninety percent of the art sells in the range of $100 to $3,000. Works between $100 and $500 are smaller originals or limited-edition prints. Larger pieces can go for up to $10,000, with the maximum price for any one work in the fair being $15,000.
It’s Superfine’s sixth installment in New York. Last year’s event was at Essex Crossing on the Lower East Side.
The annual art-a-palooza is especially popular with younger art lovers. Superfine-goers, in past surveys, have said being able to meet and talk with the artists who created the artwork was a highlight for them.
One hundred percent of the art sales go to the artists.
The festival will also feature an art books pavilion and a night of “art-soaked short films.”
Superfine tickets also include entry to special events, including the grand opening gala — presented by ChaShaMa — music performances, a “mega-mixer” after party and a dinner with select artists and Superfine staff, plus two free drink tickets per day and a raffle ticket that could win a $1,000 piece of artwork.
Tickets are at varying prices for different packages. A one-day pass is $22.50. At the high end, the “Superfamily” pass, at $135, includes guaranteed seating for two at the above-mentioned private dinner.
