Freedom Moses, a “genderless and ethically sourced footwear brand,” just opened its first-ever pop-up in New York City. Located at 395 Bleecker St., between W. 11th and Perry Streets, the 550-square-foot pop-up features “a self-service shopping model” with more than 1,300 pairs of slides and 30-plus styles lining the walls in a kaleidoscope of colors.
The slides are placed in a “namaste” hanging position (with the soles of both sandals “kissing” each other) to maximize the store’s space.
Freedom Moses is best-known for its genderless and sustainable slides for adults and kids. The footwear is 100 percent vegan and cruelty free. The brand currently boasts more than 140 different “colorways” and is found at more than 1,000 retailers worldwide. Styles start at $45.
If you go to the company’s website they definitely list men’s shoes and women’s shoes separately.
Do they come in different widths? Men’s feet are wider than women’s. Don’t really get the point of genderless shoes. The point is for them to fit, no?
