BY THE VILLAGE SUN | The 25th Annual Lunar New Year Parade on Sunday filled Chinatown’s streets with crowds, dragons, lion dancers and excitement — and rabbits, too, since 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit.
Politicians aplenty were also in attendance, including Senator Chuck Schumer, Governor Hochul, Mayor Adams, Congressmember Nydia Velazquez, Assemblymember Grace Lee, Councilmember Gale Brewer and former Councilmember Margaret Chin and former Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou, to name just some.
The route went from Mott and Canal Streets to Chatham Square, then down East Broadway toward the Manhattan Bridge, finishing up along Eldridge and Forsyth Streets and Grand Street next to Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
