BY SHARON WOOLUMS | The long-awaited Expo 2022, a showcase of the brilliant talents at Greenwich House’s older adult centers, was put together by volunteers from Center on the Square, the nonprofit organization’s first art show since the COVID lockdown.
Forty artists from Greenwich House each submitted up to two pieces of art. Mediums included watercolor, acrylic, oil, markers, collage, sculpture and more. More than 70 pieces are currently on view in the second-floor parlor room and the first-floor dining room. Check with the Center, at 20 Washington Square North, the day you plan to visit for viewing hours.
The art show’s opening was held Thurs., Dec. 1, in the Center on the Square’s parlor room. Much to the delight of the artists and attendees, our Councilmembers Eric Bottcher and Christopher Marte spoke and promised much for older adults. Our seniors, who have contributed much to our community, are responsible for much that has been preserved and loved in our city.
Come and see. You may find (from those artists willing to sell) the perfect, treasured piece to hang on your wall or a special one-of-a-kind gift for a friend! The exhibit will remain up until Jan. 22.
