Two twentysomethings in the East Village left their apartment door open one day last month and they paid for it. A slipper-shod burglar quietly snuck in and made off with one of their wallets, according to police.
Cops said that on Mon., Dec. 20, around 11 a.m., the suspect got into the victims’ place, at E. 13th Street and Second Avenue, through their unlocked front door.
He grabbed a wallet, including credit cards, belonging to a woman, 24, and fled. Nothing was reportedly taken from the apartment’s other tenant, a 26-year-old man.
The suspect is described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, a black hooded coat, white socks and black slippers.
