BY CLAYTON PATTERSON | It has been a great privilege and blessing for me to have been able to document so many different sides of the people of the Lower East Side. It’s a very special section of NYC. A place Elsa and I landed in 1979 and, for whatever reason, so far, have not been able to leave. The LES has become a very large part of who I am. Love the people of the LES.
Gryphon Rue went through my archive and put together a selection of my photos of the people of the LES. The result, “Beauty Mark: Clayton Patterson,” is on view in the windows of Printed Matter / St. Mark’s, at St. Mark’s Place and Second Ave.
This slideshow contains all the pictures in the two windows, in the same sequence.
