Police announced the arrest of a man who allegedly socked a woman in the face in a random attack in Greenwich Village last month.
According to cops, on Thurs., Jan. 7, around 6:15 p.m. a 28-year-old woman was walking along the street at Sixth Ave. and Waverly Place when she was approached by a stranger who suddenly struck her in the face. No words were exchanged prior to the incident.
E.M.S. medics transported the victim to New York University Hospital where she was treated for a small cut to her face.
On Feb. 12, police announced that Thomas Kenaeme, 33, of the Bronx was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with assault and harassment. Cops gave his address as the NAICA Park Avenue Transitional Housing Program, a nonprofit-run facility for employable homeless men referred by the city’s Department of Homeless Services.
