Mugger snatches senior woman’s cell phone on LES

A 75-year-old woman was walking down the street on the Lower East Side when a young robber swiped her cell phone out of her hands, police said.

The incident occurred on Tues., Nov. 10, at 7 a.m. at the rear of 45 Rutgers St. in the LaGuardia Houses.

When the victim tried to grab back her phone, the mugger pushed her to the ground, causing her pain and bruising. He fled on foot.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years old.

Police provided subway video of the suspect taken afterward from near the location of the robbery.
