18-year-old gunned down outside L.E.S. deli

BY THE VILLAGE SUN | A teenager was killed early Sunday morning outside a Lower East Side deli, according to police.

Police said that, just a minute after midnight on June 25, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of a male shot in front of Rivington Foods, at 210 Rivington St., at the corner of Pitt Street, across from the Samuel Gompers Houses.

They found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported by E.M.S. ambulance to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not yet released the victim’s identification pending family notification. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
