SAY “NO” TO CITY OF YES (COY)

COY is Mayor Adams’s Planning Commission’s proposal for the future of NYC.

The City Council will vote on it in May. COY will do great harm to our city.

COY deregulates residential protections. COY was drafted by real estate, banking, venture capital and CEO’s, with no community input. Thus large-scale amusements could be allowed in residential districts, completely altering neighborhoods. Small-scale businesses would be allowed in residential buildings. Projects like NYCHA, Lincoln Towers and Towers West would be vulnerable to additional buildings added to their grounds, virtually undoing progressive policies that brought air, light and parks to these communities. The City’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (URURP) protects us now, but COY will enable CPC (City Planning Commission) to make decisions on applications. The list of deregulations goes on, with zero respect for density or location. COY will only make this city more dense and congested, and deteriorate our quality of life.

Contact your council member. Ask them to vote “no” on COY.
