A Black Lives Matter protest march in Harlem on Sun., June 7, saw a lot of young protesters, as in, really young — small children, who were brought along by their parents.
In 1963, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom saw the Washington Mall in D.C. filled with 250,000 demonstrators. More than a few had their young kids in tow. They wanted them to experience the historic event, which featured Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, “I Have a Dream” speech.
Today’s young parents are raising the next generation of freedom fighters.
