With the blowing of the shofar, or ram’s horn, at the end of Yom Kippur, Judaism’s High Holy Days concluded on Thursday evening. They began with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
On Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Jews fast, repent of their sins against others and God and ask for forgiveness, remember loved ones who have passed on, and recommit themselves to trying to make the world a better place.
